Independent procurement coordination
Thermoforming Machine Sourcing
Thermoforming Machine Sourcing coordinates factory quotations for thermoforming equipment used with plastic sheet. The service name is our own procurement desk, not an OEM identity. We compare written scopes, ask manufacturers to confirm forming area, closing force and tooling inclusion, and return open deviations to the buyer. We do not stamp engineering drawings, hold inventory, or act as a brand-appointed reseller.
Coordinator responsibilities
Independent sourcing partner: we match a buyer brief to manufacturer replies. The buyer owns the part and the plant decision. The manufacturer owns machine feasibility, tool quotes and any trial they offer. This desk does not replace either party in FAT or SAT.
| Decision point | Evidence or question |
|---|---|
| Coordinator responsibilities: Design input | Collect the cup or tray drawing, sheet structure, gauge, intended cavity count, utilities, quantity, destination and optional budget with currency. Forward the same pack to each manufacturer so replies share one duty envelope. Linked public references such as ILLIG RDM forming-area pages are labeled as third-party data, not as this desk’s test result. |
| Supplier answer | Ask each factory to list forming area, closing force, heater zones, whether forming, trimming and stacking tools are included, and how wall-thickness distribution and rim geometry will be measured. Record Incoterms, installation, training and spare-parts lines instead of merging them into a single unexplained total. |
| Open deviation | Flag missing tool ownership, substitute trial sheet, unpublished changeover time, or a cycle-rate claim without cavity layout. Those gaps stay open until the manufacturer writes a correction; this site does not fill them with assumed numbers. |
Connected load in kW, supply frequency in Hz, compressed air demand, cooling water and footprint should appear on the manufacturer reply because they change hall preparation. Throughput should be restated as accepted parts per hour at the named gauge, not as a free-running cycle time. Changeover between cup SKUs is a buyer-owned schedule; we only ask factories to document tool-change steps.
